Legoland Florida Resort and theme Park is a visually stunning and playful vacation destination straight out of a child’s fairytale and a parent’s dream. Imagine a resort and theme park built out of your child’s favorite toy and it being the most convenient, kid-friendly and stress-free vacation you’ve ever taken.

Not only is everything incredibly close and easily accessible, but there are also plenty of activities and entertainment to keep your kids engaged and having a blast while the parents relax. Let me explain what you need to know before you go.

Playtime starts at check-in with a huge Lego pit in the center of the lobby and leads to a giant Lego Pirate Ship and Castle. Parents can check in with ease at one of the Kiosks or with a Lego team member and then off on your next adventure, the in-room scavenger hunt! Follow the clues to unlock the safe and win your prize!

Pro tip: The official check in time is 4 p.m., however if you come in early before your room is ready, the front desk will hold your bags if you have park tickets that day or just want to explore the area or take a swim.
Accommodations

You can choose from three different options Legoland Florida Resort, the Lego Pirate Island Hotel or the Beach Retreat.

The Legoland Florida Resort offers Lego Duplo, Lego Friends, Lego Ninjago, Lego Movie and Adventure, Kingdom and Pirate themed rooms. These can be requested while making your reservation, but they are first come, first serve. The Legoland Florida Resort also offers family suites for those needing more space.

The excitement starts as soon as you enter the elevator for a full-fledged, “party in the elevator,” complete with a disco ball. We stayed in a pirate-themed room and walking in was like diving headfirst into a Legoland adventure. Lego pirate themed characters and treasure maps covered the walls and floors. Lego statues of different animals were scattered throughout the room. Grab the scavenger hunt map and start exploring with your kiddos. This is such a fun family activity to start off the vacation.

The rooms are the perfect size for families offering a large king bed for parents and then separately offering an area for the kids with two twin bunks and a trundle bed. Each area has its own television with a Lego Channel that plays Lego movies 24-7. Our favorite part! What’s your favorite Lego Movie?

The parent’s area of the room has a mini fridge, dresser with a Keurig-like coffee maker and a full-length mirror which gave me a functional area to get dressed each morning and leaving the bathroom free for everyone. The hallway leading to the parent’s space also offers a small closet and dresser-type area to keep outfits organized for each day.

The bathroom is fully functional for adults and kids a like and offers the same playful décor as the rest of the room. Just watch out for the tarantula on the wall!! The shower has an adjustable shower head for all heights, and the toilet accommodates kiddos still potty training. There is a retractable clothesline in the shower to dry bathing suits and towels. We love the Lego toiletries that include shampoo, conditioner, body wash and lotion.

Pro-tip: Find the stairway that leads to your floor because the elevator tends to become crowded, and you may find yourself in a long line.
Legoland Florida Resort Pool

After you’ve settled in, throw on your bathing suit and head to the pool. The main pool area has a slide and is heated to make it usable year-round. Spend your time relaxing poolside while the kiddos build with extra-large Lego pieces that can be found all over the pool area. There are plenty of pool-side loungers and umbrellas. This pool area also features a waterslide. No need to bring any towels. You can find towel vending in the pool area for use with your room key. Grab a drink at the Skyline Lounge on your way out to the pool area. Their signature cocktail is the Raspberry Basil Mule, and they also offer nonalcoholic mocktail options including a Hibiscus Mint Lemonada and a fun drink for the kiddos called Swamp Juice that is a combo of Kool Aid, fruit juice and gummy gators.
Pro-tip: Don’t forget to pack some mosquito spray. In late summer, we’ve needed it around the pool area.
Legoland Activities

Activities in the evening start around 6 p.m. and can be anything from Bingo to build challenges or an interactive story time and end at 9 p.m. with a dance party. This is the time to get pictures with Merlin the wizard or many of the other fun Lego characters walking around.

Parents can take a seat and enjoy the fun while the kiddos are having a blast interacting with Lego team members and playing in the castle and pirate ship located in the lobby. Do some shopping before bedtime in the Lego gift shop located next to the front desk.

For those who like a little more low-key type of environment in the evening, head next door to the Legoland Pirate Hotel. They have a special room with several build areas and a television that plays different Lego Movies 24-7. They also offer evening activities but it’s a little more intimate in this area. You can also find the Smugglers bar here and don’t forget to get a picture of Lego Parrot! Smugglers Bar signature cocktail is a rum-based and pirate themed drink called the Rum Ruannargh or try their signature mocktail the Pirate Punch.
Restaurants:

There are so many great perks and added value to Legoland Florida Resorts. One of our favorites is the large free breakfast offered at Shipwreck restaurant or Brick’s Family Restaurant on property daily.

We love Shipwreck for breakfast and while it does offer some tasty options for dinner, we found it more cost effective to get off property for dinner. Our favorite restaurant is Glory Days. It’s a family friendly American grill located across the street and of course Chick Filet is always a winner especially for our picky 11-year-old. Publix is also right outside the gate as well if you’re looking for a good salad, sushi, or sub. Skyline Lounge on property also offers a full menu as well.

Pro-tip: Make sure to go early and put in your reservation for breakfast or dinner at any of the three Legoland Restaurants. There can be long lines.
Legoland Florida Amusement Park

After you’ve enjoyed a HAARTY breakfast at one of the Legoland Restaurants follow the walkway right over to the park and enter through the iconic Legoland entrance. Don’t forget to stop and get a family picture! Grab a park map and head to the right. Legoland is easy to maneuver. Head to the Great Lego Race Coaster ride first.

This is our family’s favorite ride and is one that tends to have longer lines. This is one of the more thrilling rides in the park. Then head over to the driving school and Coast Guard themed boating school. We love this one because both my husband and I served in the Coast Guard. Our other favorites include, the Coastersaurus, The Dragon in the Lego Kingdoms area, the Ninjago 3d inside ride and shooting game and the Lego Movie, Masters of Flight ride in the Lego Movie are. The rides in this park are milder and have a very tame feeling like the rides in Disney World.

Also, for us older folks, you may remember this place was once Cypress Gardens, well, it’s still there. Partially. If you head to the back of the park, you can take a path that leads through the beautiful gardens, and you’ll get to see the Banyan Tree. Best described as something out of Pandora. Don’t miss it! Also, toward the back of the park is the Pirate River Quest where you and your family can hop onto a Lego Pirate ship and take a special cruise around Lake Eloise. This is included with park admission.
There are plenty of restaurants to choose from, but our family enjoyed the food at Burger Kitchen. They also have chicken tenders and yes, they are Weston approved. He is the picky 11-year-old I mentioned previously and a type of Chicken Tender connoisseur. You can’t leave Legoland without trying the apple fries topped with ice cream and caramel sauce. These are a must-have treat. Make sure to visit the Legoland Gift shop. Purchases here can be sent to your room so there is no need to carry them around all day.

Pro-tip: Legoland Florida does not accept Lego store gift cards. This is also a cashless resort and park.

Fun Extras
One of the other fun perks to this hotel, while you’re out, housekeeping will go in and straighten your room and leave a little surprise in the form of a Lego Duplo set or Lego Mini figure for your Lego-loving kiddos. Also in the evenings that Resort has two fire pits located down by Lake Eloise a short walk from the resort and offers smores kits. These are free for VIP members or can be purchased for $25 for regular resort guests. The resort also offers mini gold in the same area and can be purchased at the front desk for $8 per person to play.
Mr. Gold. This is a limited edition minifigure that is sought after by Legoland park goers of all ages. Start looking as soon as you enter the park. Look for a Legoland team member with a special gold badge. This means Mr. Gold isn’t far away. If you are lucky enough to find Mr. Gold, you can be rewarded with special Lego prizes and possibly fast passes for the park. Keep your eyes open and good luck!
Legoland Florida Resort is also home to Peppa Pig Land and Legoland Florida Water Park. Tickets for these attractions can be bought together with Legoland Florida Park tickets.
Coming soon to Legoland Florida Resort is SEA LIFE Florida. This will be an aquarium with 25 interactive exhibits and over 3,000 different marine life. These tickets will be available to purchase separately.

Legoland Florida Resort is jam packed with freebies, value and is so easily maneuvered with children of all ages. This is one of our families’ all-time favorite vacations. My 14-year-old son loved it just as much. This place takes away the stress and only leaves room for families to laugh and create fun memories that will be treasured. I hope that you book your trip today and you have the best time together! Now, Let’s make Memories!
