Chattanooga, Tennessee offers one of the best experiences for Spring Break. The weather in March ranges from the 60’s to 70’s, and the views are breathtaking.  There are plenty of family friendly activities, shopping, and restaurants. When we visit, we like to stay downtown within walking distance of the Tennessee Aquarium www.tnaqua.org and the children’s museum, www.cdmfun.org. We like to spend our time going through each place and not rush. Each destination is a full day’s adventure.

Chattanooga also offers lots of outdoor activities including hiking and kayaking. The cities famous Ruby Falls and Rock City are also a must see while visiting. One of my favorite areas is the Bluff View Art District that is home to the Hunter Museum of Art www.huntermuseum.org and the best coffee shop, Rembrandts https://bluffviewartdistrictchattanooga.com/rembrandtscoffee. There is a little something for everyone.

We like the Hilton brand and have stayed several times at the Hampton Inn Downtown in Chattanooga. https://expedia.com/affiliates/chattanooga-hotels-hampton-inn-suites-chattanoogadowntown.zC4CWos

This hotel is a win/win because of its proximity to the aquarium, restaurants and a free shuttle that takes you across the bridge for a unique shopping experience in the famous North Shore, www.visitchattanooga.com/plan/neighborhoods/northshore/. Not to mention it has free breakfast and an indoor pool. What more can a family ask for? Make sure to get a room with a terrace. The city is breathtaking at night and let’s Mom and Dad have some unwinding time after the kids go to bed. The Hilton Garden Inn Downtown is another excellent place to stay. We love it because the onsite restaurant and the indoor heated pool. The location is fantastic as well, it’s located next door to the children’s museum.

The Tennessee aquarium is home to 12,000 animals including salt and freshwater tanks. Make sure you get a list of animal exhibits in the morning. I don’t like to miss the experts talking about each exhibit and all the unique animals. Don’t miss the IMAX theater that shows many impressive movies in 3D. Currently they are running; Blue Whales: Return of the Giants 3D.

There are several phenomenal restaurants in Chattanooga, but I’m going to talk about our favorite three. For breakfast on the North Shore, you have to try Aretha Frankenstein’s, www.arethas.com. It’s a funky little breakfast place with an eclectic style. Album posters and nostalgic cereal boxes adorn the walls. Come for the atmosphere and stay for their famous- thick and fluffy buttermilk pancakes and add blueberries or chocolate chips to make them extra special.

For lunch or dinner, we like the Boathouse Rotisserie and Oyster Bar, www.boathousechattanooga.com. This restaurant sits on the Tennessee River, and you have lovely views while eating on their patio. It’s known as the top oyster bar in the area; however, we liked the Havana Smoked Pork sandwich, which is their smoked BBQ with red onion, Swiss cheese, and mojo dipping sauce and their fried shrimp po boy. The food and views are on point.

Our other go to for dinner is Mellow Mushroom, www.mellowmushroom.com/locations/tn/chattanooga/205-broad-st/. The restaurant is within walking distance of the Hampton Inn, and they have patio seating. They offer some of the best pizza combinations including their Pacific Rim and Great White pizzas.  They have a good wine and drink list for Mom and Dad, as well as breadsticks in the shape of music notes for the kids.  It’s a great dining option for everyone. Ben and Jerry’s is right next door. Like I always say, make room for ice cream!

Lastly, one of my personal favorites is the Bluff View Art District which is home to one of my favorite coffee shops in Tennessee, Rembrandt’s. The coffee they serve is roasted right there on the edge of the Tennessee River at Rembrandts Roasting Company, https://bluffviewartdistrictchattanooga.com/rembrandts-roasting-company creating one smooth and craveable cup of coffee. The chocolates, pastries, breakfast, and lunch offerings are divine as well. I love their chocolates.  My favorite is a chocolate in the shape of a cup of cappuccino. It is just as beautiful as it is delicious.

Chattanooga is one my family's top picks for Spring Break, I hope it will become one your family’s favorite’s as well. There is something in this city for every interest and any age. Now book your trip and make some memories!   https://expedia.com/affiliates/expedia-home.Jamg5KI
